New Overtime Pay Rules SUSPENDED

A Federal judge in Texas issued a nationwide injunction on Tuesday, November 22d, against an Obama administration regulation expanding overtime eligibility to millions of workers.
The regulation, scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2016 raised the salary limit below which workers automatically qualified for overtime pay to $47,476 (or $913 per week) from $23,660 (or $455 per week).
The judge has not made a final ruling on the case, and has only issued a temporary injunction. Employers may choose to not implement the changes they had planned for compliance as of December 1.
We will keep you updated for future developments in the law.
